Description

The Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions is a full-time, twelve-month position with benefits overseeing all aspects of marketing and promotions for the Chattanooga Mocs Athletics Department. This position reports to the Deputy Athletics Director for External Operations and oversees the Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions. This position provides daily oversight for all areas of marketing and promotions including, but are not limited to:
  • Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive annual marketing plans for various sports
  • Design and implement marketing strategies that increase attendance and revenue, as well as enhance the fan experience and gameday atmosphere for home contests
  • Create and execute strategies that enhance engagement efforts with both our campus and community
  • Coordinate all aspects of digital and traditional advertising and promotion efforts, and manage the marketing operational budget
  • Oversee various gameday functions and develop event scripts for assigned sports
  • Assist with fulfillment of sold sponsor inventory with Mocs Sports Properties, the 3rd Party Multimedia Rights Holder for UTC Athletics Provide supervision to the operation of the Scrappy's Kids Club, the official kids club of the Chattanooga Mocs
  • Develop, implement, and execute all marketing activities for the Southern Conference and NCAA Championship events hosted by UTC
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; three (3) or more years of experience in the areas of athletic marketing and promotions; ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines; ability to maintain positive relationships with external and internal constituencies and provide excellent customer service; must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written; and must have working knowledge of MS software (I.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in related field; experience in the collegiate environment; experience working with, and knowledge of, CRM and Email Marketing software; (I.e., Salesforce, Paciolan, and Adobe Campaign/Oracle Eloqua); experience with design software (i.e., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); and familiarity with Southern Conference and NCAA rules and regulations preferred.
