Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $70,000 per year
  • This is a full-time, exempt position.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.

The Fresno State Athletic Corporation provides a benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, participation in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), and sick and vacation time. Job Summary

With oversight by the Director of Athletics, or their designee, the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services is responsible for the management and oversight of academic and student support services. The position supervises Athletic Academic Advisors and Learning Specialists. The Assistant Athletic Director will supervise the day to day operations of Student-Athlete Services (SAS).

Key Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Ability to build relationships across campus to form community integration and promote student-athlete welfare
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information according to FERPA guidelines
  • Ability to assist student-athletes in course selection for regular and summer sessions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekend hours
  • Ability to utilize computer applications to regularly monitor student-athlete academic progress toward graduation and their NCAA/MWC academic eligibility

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in education, sports administration, psychology, counseling, teaching, personnel or related field is required.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in Athletic Counseling/Advising or related experience.
  • Previous advising experience working with a Division I Athletics program

This will require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within six (6) months of assuming office and every two (2) years thereafter.
