Description
This position assists Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in all aspects of NCAA compliance operations.
Assist Associate Athletic Director for Compliance with institution's NCAA compliance operations with emphasis in the following areas:
- Updating and monitoring student-athlete information in NCAA Eligibility Center, NCAA Compliance Assistant, ARMS and Banner
- Supervision of National Letter of Intent program
- Annual coaches' recruiting test/certifications
- Recruiting processes and forms including NCAA transfer clearinghouse, verification of transfer academic year in residence, campus visits (official and unofficial)
- Assisting at Player Pass Gate for home football games
Monitor initial eligibility and amateurism certification of incoming student-athletes with NCAA Eligibility Center including:
- Send Head Coaches or designee weekly progress reports
- Communicate with coaches and/or incoming student-athletes any issues with initial eligibility and/or amateurism.
- Enhance Compliance Education with the following constituents:
- Athletics Personnel (coaches, athletics staff, student-athletes, managers, directors of operations, & volunteers
- Records, Financial Aid & Admissions compliance liaisons
- Boosters/Fans
The idea candidate will possess the following:
Knowledge of NCAA rules & regulations; knowledge of NCAA Compliance Assistant and LSDBI; familiarity with commercial compliance tracking software; ability to maintain positive relationships constituencies and provide excellent customer service; must possess strong communications skills, both oral and written; ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; 1-3 years of NCAA compliance experience within the previous five years (internships experience included); and a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters or JD degree; experience in NCAA compliance experience at NCAA Division I institutions or conference level; knowledge of Banner; and knowledge of Southern Conference rules, regulations, policies & procedures.
