Assistant Athletic Trainer

Primary Purpose of Position:
The assistant athletic trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University's comprehensive sports medicine program. The Assistant Athletic Trainer provides coverage of the athletic training room and travels with athletic teams. The Assistant Athletic Trainer manages the care and prevention of athletic injuries, recognizes and manages injuries, oversees rehabilitation, evaluates sports injuries through independent judgment and discretion, and makes proper referrals of injuries as necessary.
Bachelors degree, preferably in physical therapy or health science, and 1 - 3 years of related experience at the collegiate level.
Experience: Some medical experience preferred but not required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of the physical training demands for various team and individual sports; ability to demonstrate communication skills necessary for dealing with student-athletes, coaching staff, and administrative personnel.
