Athletic Trainer

Penn State Mont Alto is accepting applications for a full-time certified Athletic Trainer. This is an 11-month appointment. The athletic trainer is responsible for providing medical services for 140+ student-athletes participating in a broad-based intercollegiate athletic program consisting of 12 varsity teams.

Job Responsibilities:
  • The prevention/recognition of athletic injuries, evaluation/care of athletic injuries, and rehabilitation/reconditioning of injured student-athletes.
  • Facilitate communication with the team doctor regarding the healthcare of student-athletes, and set up referrals and appointments.
  • Maintain proper medical records by all governing guidelines (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, and University policies).
  • Complete appropriate paperwork including, but not limited to injury reports for departmental accountability.
  • Responsible for providing daily medical coverage of practices, home athletic competitions, and camps/clinics throughout the year.
  • Overseeing the management of the Fitness Center and conducting yearly inventories and ordering equipment/supplies.


Typical Education:
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher; Master's Degree preferred
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required Certifications, Registrations, or Licensure: BOC Certified Athletic Trainer; PA State Licensed Athletic Trainer; Certified Health Care Provider (CPR/AED)
